The problem

More and more customers skip the list of blue links and just ask an AI assistant: "Who's a good dentist in Merrick that takes walk-ins?" The assistant names a few businesses. If your listings are incomplete, your hours are wrong, or your website hides key details in images, you may not be one of them, or you may be described incorrectly.

The good news: according to the platforms' own documentation, AI search features are built on the same foundations as regular search and maps. The guide is the clicks. Update the Google listing, submit the website to Bing, and put the same facts on the site as text those assistants can read.

What you will do

Three jobs, in this order. None of them requires a chatbot. If you already use ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or Cursor, the guide shows where a draft helps and where you still have to click the button yourself.

1. Update Google Business

Claim the profile, or refresh the one you already have. Name, category, hours, phone, services, and real photos. That listing feeds Google Maps and a lot of what Gemini can say about a local business.

2. Submit the site to Bing

Add the website in Bing Webmaster Tools, verify it, and submit the sitemap. Claim Bing Places too. Copilot reads Bing. The guide has the clicks, including IndexNow when your host offers it.

3. Check ChatGPT and the others

Ask who they recommend, see which page or listing they cited, and fix that source. A public page ChatGPT is allowed to read is not the same thing as a promise you will be named.

Use AI, or don’t

You don’t use AI

Every step is a checklist in a normal browser. Google Business, Bing, and the website builder. You can finish the listings without ever opening a chat.

You use it sometimes

Use ChatGPT or a similar tool only to draft from facts you typed: services, towns, and hours. You paste the result into Google or the site. The guide tells the tool what it must not invent.

You want help from Cursor

The private page includes a facts file and two skills for the website work, plus which connections are worth adding. A person still updates Google and Bing. The tool does not log in and do it alone.

What's inside

How AI picks businesses

What OpenAI, Google, Microsoft and Perplexity say about how their tools find and cite websites, in plain English.

Google Business Profile

Claim it, or update the profile you already have: category, hours, services, photos, and the edits customers suggest.

Bing, step by step

Submit the website in Bing Webmaster Tools, send the sitemap, turn on IndexNow if you can, and claim Bing Places so Copilot and Bing see the same business.

NAP & citations

Make your name, address and phone consistent across Yelp, BBB, your chamber and niche directories.

Ethical reviews

A simple review system that follows the FTC's review rule and Google's policies. No fake or incentivized reviews.

Website basics

Crawlable text, an FAQ page, a fill-in LocalBusiness schema template, robots.txt, sitemaps and IndexNow.

The answer-first formula and 10 content ideas for any local business.

Earning real mentions

A 14-prompt list to check how AI tools describe you, plus a 30-day plan and 5 worksheets.

Prompt library

Website fixes you can paste

Homepage and service-page outlines, FAQ questions, footer text, schema, robots.txt, and a brief for your web person.

A plan you can check off

The 30 days and the worksheets, saved in your browser on an unlisted page. The PDF has the same sheets for paper.

Who it's for

  • Owners of local service businesses, shops, restaurants, salons, practices and trades
  • People who never use AI, people who use ChatGPT every day, and everyone in between
  • People who are comfortable with email and a website builder, but aren't technical
  • Anyone who wants a clear checklist instead of jargon
  • Web designers and office managers helping a local business

Who it's not for

  • Anyone looking for shortcuts, fake reviews or "hacks"
  • Large national brands with an in-house SEO team
  • Anyone who wants a guaranteed result. Nobody can honestly promise that (see below).

What $25 includes

You get the guide, and a private page where you can use it. That page is the Stripe link after payment. It is not in the menu, not in search, and not linked from this page. Bookmark it. If you lose it, email me and I’ll send it again.

Read it or download it

The full guide on your phone, including the Google update and the Bing submission, plus the original 27-page PDF. Same jobs, two ways to follow them.

See what AI says about you

Prompts for ChatGPT, Google, Gemini, Perplexity, and Copilot, including sets for home services, health, food, salons, shops, and offices. Ask twice. Write down the sources.

Improve the site with your own facts

Outlines and copy blocks for the homepage, services, FAQ, footer, titles, schema, and robots.txt. Draft prompts are written so a chatbot marks missing facts instead of inventing them. You still edit.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as "AI SEO," "GEO" or "AEO"?

Yes. Those are all names for making your business easy for AI assistants to find, understand and describe. The guide uses plain language and focuses on what the platforms themselves recommend.

Do I need to be technical?

No. Updating Google Business and submitting the site to Bing are done in a browser. The website chapters include copy-paste templates and a checklist you can hand to whoever manages your site.

Do I have to use AI to follow the guide?

No. The listings and the Bing submission are ordinary accounts you update yourself. If you already use a chatbot, the guide shows how to draft from your own facts and what not to let it invent. If you use Cursor, the private page has skills for the website files. A person still saves the Google and Bing changes.

Which AI tools does it cover?

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot. Most of the steps also help with regular Google, Bing and Apple Maps results.

How long will it take to see results?

It varies. Some fixes (like correcting your hours) can show up quickly; others build over weeks or months. The guide includes a 30-day plan and a way to measure where you started.

Will this get me recommended by ChatGPT?

It can improve your chances of being found and described accurately, but no one can guarantee any AI recommendation or ranking. See the disclaimer below.

What format is it?

A 27-page PDF, plus a private page on this website where you can read the same guide, follow the Google and Bing steps, use the prompt library, copy the website fixes, and fill in the worksheets. The worksheets stay in your browser. They are not uploaded to me.

Where is the download page?

Stripe sends you there after payment. It is a long, unlisted address. It is not linked from this site. Bookmark it. Email me if you need the link again.

Can I share it with my team?

Yes, within your own business. Please don't resell or post it publicly.

Can I get a refund?

No. The guide is a digital product and it is delivered as soon as you pay. By buying, you agree that the sale is final. See the terms below.
